This is from probably the practice session where we wrote Hey!!! in the summer of 2007. The song came about by just writing the simplest and silliest things we could thing of and just making a lot of loud noise and shouting. Ironically this song that we didn’t think would go anywhere is one of the most licensed and downloaded LiO songs of all time.
What I like about the song is that it reminds me of a time when LiO was very playful and carefree in our spirit and writing. We were learning how to record/produce at this time and when recording the Love in October EP we rented a bunch of vacant rooms around Minneapolis to track in. We didn’t know a lot about recording, which resulted in some “incorrect” recording techniques, but also created a great and unique sound for the EP.
